Places of interest in Alghero

The medieval Sardinian-Catalan coastal town of Alghero is located in the northwest of Sardinia and was built in 1102 by the family of nobility; Doria. In the year 1353, the Spanish took over power in Alghero, leaving many traces that can still be seen today. The Spanish-style palazzos, city walls and defensive towers, as well as the bilingual street names in Catalan and Italian, reflect the proud legacy of over 300 years of rule.

Today, this destination is visited by many tourists during every season. The ideal location right on the coast and only a 15-minute drive from Alghero airport; Fertilia makes this place a perfect holiday destination.

By evening, as soon as the temperature drops slightly and the sun sets behind the opposite cape of Capo Caccia, the city takes on an orange-peachy color.
