Hotel Palazzo Sa Pischedda, Bosa - Sardinia
This charming hotel is housed in an old 19th-century mansion in Bosa. In the town, situated on the only navigable river in Sardinia and known for its tanneries, Signor Muroni founded one of the first hotels in Sardinia in 1896. In hotel Sa Pischedda, centrally located in the town, from the Superior rooms with panoramic terrace you can enjoy the beautiful view over the colorful, medieval old houses of Bosa.
About the accommodation
Decorated with frescoes, antiquarian bookshop and high ceilings, Palazzo Sa Pischedda is housed in a beautiful mansion. Here you will stay within walking distance of the old town, which was one of the most beautiful old towns in Sardinia. Only the old Temo bridge separates you from the old palazzi, narrow streets, steep steps and dark wine cellars of the old trading city. During a walk through the center you will be amazed by the many artist studios, old ladies selling their own lace rugs and the countless small restaurants hidden in the most narrow streets. The fishermen repair their old nets on the water, cafes and a small tannery museum are located in the abandoned tanneries. Here it is especially beautiful at night, once the sun sets and the lights of the city are reflected in Sardinia's only navigable river. Incidentally, you can also enjoy delicious food in Hotel Palazzo Sa Pischedda. Strongly linked to the Slow Food association, the restaurant offers excellent seafood specialties and you can of course drink a glass of Malvasia wine from Bosa in the gazebo. This dry white wine is grown with a grape variety that only grows here on the slopes along the Temo.
Rooms
The 15 rooms in the house are decorated in Liberty style with some of the rooms preserving the original ceiling paintings. All rooms are air-conditioned and equipped with a minibar, safe, telephone, television, free Internet and a bathroom with shower, hairdryer and make-up mirror. The cheapest Classic rooms are spread over two levels where you reach the sleeping area via the stairs. A number of classic rooms have an ornamental balcony. The superior rooms can accommodate three people and again consist of two levels and offer a sofa (bed) and a reading corner. The best room in the hotel is the elegant Superior Panoramica room with a large panoramic terrace overlooking Bosa.
Activities
Bosa and the surrounding area has much to offer for all active holidaymakers; horse riding, cycling, diving or snorkeling, it is all possible! The unspoilt coastline and inland of Western Sardinia are not crowded tourist areas and for that reason also ideal for getting to know the real Sardinia and the local population. The wide, ocher-yellow sandy beach of Bosa Marina, with its many beach bars, is one of the most popular beaches in the region. There is a party in Bosa almost every weekend of the year; Easter, Carnival, wine festivals, beer festivals, exhibitions, not to mention the great procession of Regnos Altos in mid-September. It is not without reason that the small town in the west is one of the most visited cities on the island.
A perfect stay for those...
This small, high quality hotel is ideal for a stopover in the west of Sardinia. We recommend that you book at least two to three nights to discover an authentic part of Sardinia in peace and quiet.

Bosa
Bosa is located on the west coast of the island on the north bank of the Temo River; the only navigable river in Sardinia. The city was founded by the Phoenicians, but under the rule of the Spanish in the 14th century it became a royal city, part of the independent Kingdom of Arborea.
The village is built around the Malaspina Castle, dating back to 1112 A.C., on the Serravalle hill. We highly recommend visiting the picturesque and colourful Sas Conzas quarter and the medieval Sa Costa quarter and its labyrinth of narrow alleys and stairways. Bosa is filled with restaurants, bars and cafés.
The beach of Bosa Marina is ca. 3 kilometres from Bosa. Furthermore, in the area there are numerous bays only accessible by boat. The medieval town of Alghero is ca. 45 kilometres from Bosa.

Discover the province of Oristano in west Sardinia
In the west of Sardinia is the province of Oristano with the capital of the same name. This region is quite flat and has relatively little tourism, the reason for this special region is dominated by olive cultivation, fishing, agriculture and livestock farming! In this region you will find extensive vineyards with the typical Oristan Vernaccia grapes. The extensive tasting of this delicious wine is a must! Taste this wine here! Discover for example the small authentic town Bosa, but also one of the numerous archaeological remains dating back to before our era are certainly worth a visit. Also visit the Sinis peninsula, of which the entire coastal area is a protected area. Capo San Marco is the northern tip of the Gulf of Oristano and is a wonderful place for a small excursion by bike or hike. Take a refreshing dip from one of the beautiful beaches of San Giovanni di Sinis. At the lake of Santa Giusta you can see pink flamingos and other birds that live here in a paradise of their own! Around the fishing village of Cabras is produced the delicious bottarga (roe), which is used in many Sardinian dishes. In the town of Oristano, an equestrian tournament is still held every year during Carnival: "Sa Sartiglia", masked horsemen galloping on steeds at breath-taking speed aim their swords at a tin star.
